For this weeks challenge Hels Sheridan has chosen 'summer colours'. I decided on sunny yellows & pretty blues. I began by colouring my piece of 5.5" card with DI's ( scattered straw, spiced marmalade, wild honey & peeled paint) then spritzed with sunflower sparkle perfect pearls. This is very sparkly so a little goes a long way. Next I inked through one of new Prima stencils with peeled paint then stamped the TH butterflies with black & then went over the ink with pewter perfect pearls mica powder to give them a little sheen. I re-stamped the butterflies, spritzed with Cosmic Shimmer Teal Wash & cut one of them out & added on top of the original. I stamped the flower (Paper Artsy) in black onto the yellow card then stamped another one onto white care, coloured with stormy sky DI then spritzed with the teal then cut out the flowers & placed them on top of the original. I love the colour of this teal spray, very vibrant. There's quite a bit of 'bling' to the card now but this is always difficult to pick up on the photos. I mounted the card onto blue card (Basic Grey Granola card pad), attached the black ribbon (from the blog candy I won last week!) & finally added an old material brad from Basic Grey & adhered to a white card. My summer coloured card.

Sunday Stamper - Week 202 - Summer In The City

Sunday Stamper - Week 201 - Man Of The World
I found this photo frame & inked it up with frayed burlap, scattered straw, walnut stain & peeled paint DI splashed with water to distress then spritzed with heirloom gold perfect pearls. Stamped the plane & postcard script from TH then the cogs & man from Paper Artsy. I cut out the TH rosette & added the '7 gypsies' hand & a broken part of a wooden leaf which I inked up. The car was cut out with my Silhouette from TH 'stamps' card then distressed further with walnut stain - I used two wooden buttons for the wheels. Once I had finished the frame I printed out the 'Great World' postcard which I had scanned from a card sent from my dad when he arrived in Singapore with the army, dated 16th July 1953. I 'googled' the postcard & found out that it was an amusement park! I liked the name of it & thought it worked well with the theme. I stamped a 'Creative Expressions' ticket & placed behind the rosette & added a very small photo of my dad taken just before he left the country behind a Paper Artsy negative frame. The title was printed & cut out from my computer. I covered the back of the frame & the new TH small easel die with paper & adhered to the back of the frame. Both my Grandad & my Dad were keen photographers & I must have thousands (no exaggeration) of photos/slides that I am trying to organise & copy or use in my craft. This is a full time job! Some of the photos are amazing - I can lose many hours when I start to look.

12 Tags of 2012 - April
I ran the tag through the Vagabond with the embossing folder but did not have the 'reflections' stamps so inked up a small script stamp & randomly inked (very random!) the tag afterwards. I used scattered straw, peeled paint & chipped sapphire DI's & edged the tag with walnut stain. I cut the bird die out & inked up with same colour inks but added a little worn lipstick to my bird. Added walnut stain distress embossing powder to branches & some Heat it Up moss green to the leaves (which wasn't 'distress' so looks a little shiny). Next I embossed a grungeboard crown (TH) with silver (My Craft Studio Meltdust) & found a metal embellishment. I attached everything to the tag & added the metal key & yummy Prima genie stone & vintage ribbon.
Sunday Stamper - Week 200 - Blog Candy Winner!
Wow, was I excited or what this morning when I logged onto Hels Sheridan's blog 'Ink On My Fingers' (check it out if you haven't already stumbled across it) to find that I, yes me, had won last weeks blog candy. This is is such a great challenge each week & has certainly brightened up my weekends since I recently started joining in. Thank you so much Hels, I really am chuffed to bits. Now I have to get my head around this week's challenge which is 'Man Of The World'. Let's see ...

Sunday Stamper - Week 200 - I Got Your Number!
I've gone all 'Jubilee' to celebrate Hels Sheridan's 200th birthday of 'The Sunday Stamper'. This is a wonderful, inspirational blog & if you want to be amazed then click on the link in the sidebar.
Anyway, this really did challenge me! Decided to go very 'red, white & blue' to celebrate 2012. I painted red & blue through the small 'Polka Dot' mask (That Special Touch of Mica) onto a white tag then inked around the edges with DI. I cut out the red flower (Spellbinders), added a shiny gem to the middle then attached the Creative Expressions diamond hat pins (for the 'Diamond' part of 'Jubilee' I'll have you know!! I stamped 'Jubilee' across the seam binding with an old 'Impression Obsession' alphabet & adherred to tag. I stamped & embossed the crown & lion (TH) onto white card that had been spritzed with 'Biscotti' Perfect Pearls & cut out then embossed & added the TH grungeboard numbers. I finished it off with the blue/white & red/white check ribbon & attached with TH staples (TH mini stapler) then added a little bit of bling & the final red ribbon through the tag hole.

Sunday Stamper - Week 199 - On The Road Again
I have an old article about a new type of Tandem that my dear old Grandad designed & made around the late 1940s so I copied this & used for my background. I used several DI's over a few cog masks cut from my Silhouette, splashed with water to distress further then over stamped with a 'splodge' & 'watch' stamp from '7 Gypsies'. I stamped the 'cycling' stamp (The Artistic Stamper) in black & coloured with more DI's. I cut a TH rosette out of Fancy Pants card & attached a metal cog (TH) & wing bought from a craft fair, mounted the background onto cream then black card & attached some bakers twine. I coloured & stapled the phrase (Artistic Stamper) then added Rock Candy & attached to card. I tried to shape the 'cycling' stamp to add a bit of depth. Very grungy!
